When people find out that I am graduating, they slap me on the back and ask me what I’m getting my degree in. I smile and respond, “It’s as much a Master’s in Humility as it is a Master’s in Teaching.” After six months of teaching in high school and middle school, I have come to understand the two are …
Michael Morgan
I'm a twenty-three year old Los Angeles native and I've just returned from two years of traveling to over thirty countries. While traveling I taught in China, Pakistan, and Kenya and I learned the importance of education in human development all around the globe. I decided to join USC's MAT@USC program because I sincerely believe that technology and education will become inextricably bound in the future. On-line education is going to fulfill one of the world's greatest hopes: equal education for every human being. We live in a fascinating time of transition and I am honored to share my experiences with you all during my time learning in the MAT@USC program. The more you see the more you believe; the more you live the more you love!

One of the first classes taken in the MAT@USC program is 517A: Understanding the Social Context of Urban Schools. For this class, 23% of the grade involves posting in on-line forums. For the majority of the course, I was …
