We make sure that MAT@USC comes to you no matter where you live in Mississippi. The MAT@USC features an in-person teaching requirement for teachers working towards obtaining teaching credentials. No matter where you live in the Mississippi, the MAT@USC will work together with local schools to arrange for you to teach under the supervision of a Guiding Teacher chosen and trained by The MAT@USC. Our students enjoy the convenience of the MAT@USC, while still learning under the rigorous standards of USC’s Rossier School of Education.

Upon completion of the MAT@USC Single or Multiple Subject Credential program, you will be eligible to be recommended for California preliminary teacher certification. If your goal is to teach in Mississippi, your certification path will involve either becoming preliminarily certified in California, and then transferring that certification to Mississippi through interstate reciprocity agreements; or applying directly to Mississippi’s credentialing authority for certification. Our Student Services team will provide support and direction to help you identify the most direct and efficient path to teacher certification in Mississippi.
