One of the advantages of the MAT@USC is the in-class or, Guided Practice, portion of the program. This portion is required for students looking to earn their teacher certification and is dedicated to placing students in local school districts for their Guided Practice and observation sessions. Students from Oklahoma can complete their classes without leaving the back porch, and then take a drive down the road to gain actual classroom experience. Current Oklahoma teachers are not even asked to leave their post, as their classroom experience and portfolio work can be completed in the school at which they already teach. 

Earn Your Oklahoma Teaching Certificate

Once you have completed the basic course requirements and have finished the MAT@USC Single or Multiple Subject Credential program, you are eligible to be recommended for a California teaching certification. If your goal is to teach in your home state of Oklahoma, there are multiple steps you can take upon graduation to become certified. You can either apply to have your California teacher certification transferred to Oklahoma through interstate reciprocity, or apply directly to Oklahoma’s certification board for to earn your Oklahoma teacher certification.
