If you live in Vermont, relocating to the University of Southern California probably seems like a serious life change. The MAT@USC now brings the illustrious University of Southern California’s Rossier School of Education directly to Vermont.

The MAT@USC combines its innovative online interface with hands-on field-based experience to provide you with a comprehensive program that will give you the tools you need to teach in Vermont. If you are working towards your Vermont teacher certification, the MAT@USC will place you in a school near you in order to complete the Guided Practice portion of the program. It will be run by a Guiding Teacher who has been carefully selected and trained by the MAT@USC. Earn Your Vermont Teaching Certificate

If you are interested in earning your Vermont teaching certification , you can elect to complete the MAT@USC Single or Multiple Subject Credential program. Once you have satisfied the basic skills and subject area competency requirements, you will be eligible to be recommended for California preliminary teacher certification. If your goal is to teach in Vermont, your certification path will involve either becoming preliminarily certified in California, and then transferring that certification to Vermont through interstate reciprocity agreements; or applying directly to Vermont’s credentialing authority for certification. Our Student Services team will provide you with all the information and assistance you need to find the most efficient and effective path to becoming a certified teacher in Vermont.

David Cassidy joined the MAT@USC program with the May 2010 Cohort. He received his undergraduate degree in Communications in 1982 from Bridgewater State College in Massachusetts. David worked for a while in marketing for the professional theatre and finally settled into a career in magazine publishing as an editor, writer and publisher.
