Call for Writers: Become an MAT@USC Blogger

Do you have a unique perspective about the MAT@USC that you’d like to share with your peers and prospective students? Is there a particular education-related topic that you feel passionately about?

If you answered yes, the MAT@USC blog staff wants to hear from you.  We’re currently looking for enrolled students who are interested in contributing guest posts for this blog and potentially joining our existing team of six talented student bloggers.

Interested?  Fill out this form and we’ll get back to you within 24 hours.

Still not sure whether you want to be a contributor? Here’s a list of questions that you’re probably asking yourself right now:

Will I have time to blog?

We know that many of our students are juggling courses, jobs, family commitments, and guided practice.  We’re not asking anyone to commit beyond one initial post.  Our goal is to showcase as many different student perspectives as possible in a fun, interactive format.

What could I write about?

We want to capture thoughts and opinions about the state of education today and  the types of issues that our students care about.  We also want to give prospective students an accurate glimpse into the program.  You can write about current events, your classroom experiences, teaching resources, and a handful of other topics. 1199922_38790784

What if I’ve never blogged before?

It’s okay! A lot of our current bloggers have never maintained a personal blog of their own.  What’s important is that you have a point of view.  If you’re not comfortable using our blogging interface, you can always email your text and we’ll post it for you!

If you’re a current student in the MAT@USC, consider this an open invitation to be a part of this site.  If you don’t have the time or interest right now but may consider it down the road, simply fill out this form when you’re ready.

Questions? Leave them in the comments below or email our Community Manager, Alexa Scordato directly (alexa.scordato@usc.edu).
