This year, Teacher Appreciation Week runs from May 2-6 with Teacher Appreciation Day falling on May 3. Whether you’re a current or aspiring teacher, a parent, school administrator, or student, now is the time to recognize those special individuals who impact local communities one classroom at a time.
As we’ve stated before, teachers are heroes. They work tirelessly to nurture, lead, educate, and empower students. Whether we realize it growing up or not, they play an integral role in shaping our future. With this in mind, use this week as an opportunity to celebrate great teachers everywhere.
What you can do:
- Personally thank a teacher you know for choosing to make a difference every day. Even the simplest handwritten note can go a long way.
- Tweet using #TAW2011. Help spread awareness about the teaching profession and Teacher Appreciation Week.
- Blog about why teachers matter and consider contributing a video to MyTeacherMyHero.com
We’ll be recognizing a handful of select teachers on our blog this week for their outstanding contributions to the classroom and the greater online teaching community. If you’d like to submit yourself or recognize someone you know, fill out this form.
