If you are an MAT @USC student, you might be feeling a bit of excitement as another semester comes to a close. It is normal to feel a sense of relief and accomplishment to know that you have SURVIVED another semester. However, the question you need to ask yourself at the end of the semester is, “What do you WANT to remember?” Sometimes the feeling of accomplishment can actually shadow what you learned. My biggest suggestion for you at the end of an amazing semester is to take note of the resources that you have acquired. You never know what you will need while in practice. Also, keep a journal of the moments that you are going through. Stay connected to the moments that are building your personal and professional growth. Remember the moments that pushed you to your limit, remember the conversation you had with a student, remember the stories that you will exchange with your cohorts. This is the time! Stay connected to the vision you have for yourself as an educator.
To those of you that have passed the PACT…GOOD WORK! You were destined for greatness! It a huge accomplishment and it amazes me to read the supportive comments everyone has for their cohorts. I look forward to meeting you at the Commencement Ceremony on May 13, 2011! Fight On!
