Kathy Stowe

Dr. Kathy Stowe, a graduate of the USC Ed. D. Program, joined the Rossier School of Education as its Executive Director in July of 2006. Prior to this position, Dr. Stowe served as a Director of Curriculum for the Torrance Unified School District where she worked with teachers and administrators to design and implement researched based strategies to maximize student learning. Her K-12 experience has also included site leadership roles as a middle school principal, high school assistant principal and English teacher.

In addition to leading the Ed. D. Program, Dr. Stowe teaches both Core and K-12 concentration courses and serves as a chair of thematic dissertations. She also teaches in the Master of Arts in Teaching program. Her research interests are in the areas of impact of curriculum, instructional leadership and diversity on student achievement. In 2003, she received the ACSA Region XIV Valuing Diversity Award.
