Kidogo A. Kennedy

Kidogo A. Kennedy, Ed.D. obtained her doctorate in Educational Psychology from USC Rossier School of Education in 2008. Currently, her course load includes instructing educational theory and the social foundations of education.

Dr. Kennedy utilizes a critical perspective as a base for addressing particular challenges endemic within urban settings experienced by young people and adult learners K-12, college and university educational settings. Her expertise is specifically extended to assisting middle and high school athletes learn to apply varied learning and motivational strategies, so they may ensure sustained academic motivation and subsequent academic success.

Therefore, her educational consulting business, The Thinking Cap was created with the aim of enhancing learning modalities and cognitive processes of learners facing particular complexities such as: academic boredom, poor comprehension and contested writing ability. Furthermore, her collaborative approach to personalizing academic interventions focuses on guiding each student through a co-constructed process incorporating existing knowledge, newly acquired skills and instructional best practices gleaned from cognitive and sociocultural theoretical perspectives.
