Kimberly Shotwell

Kimberly Shotwell is an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the MAT at USC Rossier School of Education. She currently teaches EDUC 518: Application of Learning Theories to Classroom Practice. Kimberly holds an Ed.D in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Southern California, Rossier School of Education. Prior to her doctoral studies, she obtained her M.Ed. at Whittier College as a Teaching Fellow at The Broadoaks Children’s School where she worked as a Demonstration Teacher for six years. As an undergrad, Kimberly studied Cultural Anthropology at the University of California, San Diego, Roosevelt College.

Kimberly’s research interests include teacher preparation, induction and in-service development. The application of learning theories to classroom practice is especially meaningful for her as her dissertation work focused on Preservice Teachers’ experiences with the application of theory.

Kimberly has lived and studied in Brazil, Paraguay, Denmark and Washington, D.C. She grew up in Whittier, California with six brothers and sisters. Her current home is Long Beach, California.
