Laurie Diane Inman

Dr. Laurie Inman currently teaches EDUC519 – Human Differences in the MAT@USC program. She is also the Southern California Program Director for EnCorps Teachers Program, a non-profit organization who helps skilled professionals in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math make their transition into teaching.

Her background includes over 20 years of experience in K-16 teaching, in school and district level administration, as well as in teacher training and professional development. Dr. Inman taught grades K-4 and adult education for the Long Beach Unified School District, before becoming an elementary school principal. This was followed by a six-year tenure as Assistant Director of Curriculum, Instruction and Professional Development. During the same time period, she was an adjunct lecturer at CSU Dominguez Hills, providing potential educators with an introductory experience in teacher education. Dr. Inman spent twelve years as a literacy consultant and partner with Smar²tel Learning Links, LLC, where she was responsible for the design, development, and implementation of California state-approved training curriculum; building the capacity of administrators and teacher; and supervising a distributed leadership training model in literacy. She has worked with traditional public, charter and private schools.

Dr. Inman earned her Ed.D in Educational Leadership with a concentration in Teacher Education in Multicultural Societies at USC. She also holds a M.Ed. from the University of LaVerne and graduated from CSU, Long Beach with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders.
