M. Kent Gregory
M. Kent Gregory is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at USC, where he teaches EDUC 554, Integrated Visual and Performing Arts in Elementary Schools for the Master of Arts in Teaching program.
Kent Gregory has been teaching music and performing arts in California public schools for thirty years, including all grade levels from kindergarten to university. He has been a music education consultant to the California Department of Education for writing the Visual and Performing Arts Curriculum Framework and the Visual and Performing Arts Content Standards. He served on the Board of the California Music Educators Association and is recognized as a leader in arts education advocacy. Currently Dr. Gregory teaches elementary and middle school bands and orchestras in the Garden Grove Unified School District, and has taught evening classes at Chapman University, Pepperdine University, Cerritos College, and Santa Ana College. His degrees include a Bachelor of Music in music education from Millikin University, a Master of Music in performance from U.S.C., and a Doctor of Education from Pepperdine University.
