MAT@USC Wins 2011 Innovation Award

The University Design Consortium (UDC) has selected the MAT@USC as an award winner in the 2011 Innovation Awards competition for its innovative use of technology and organizational design.  The MAT@USC was selected because it has “transformed not only access to high quality teacher preparation around the world, but also how we organize faculty and curricula to prepare teachers, and how we and other institutions view the potential of online learning to address shortages.”  Program judges were impressed by the program’s use of eLearning & social networking coupled with on-site student teaching, especially the video-based portfolio.

Associate Dean Melora Sundt received the award on behalf of the program this morning at the American Council on Education’s 93rd Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C.  More information about the award and other recipients may be found at the ASU website.
