Patricia Dickenson

Dr. Patricia Dickenson received a Doctorate of Education with an emphasis in Educational Psychology in 2009. Her dissertation examined Latino English language learners’ motivation, engagement and achievement in mathematics classrooms.

Dr. Dickenson began teaching in South Los Angeles for the Los Angeles Unified School District. She has taught elementary, middle and high school mathematics and has served as an elementary mathematics coach In addition Dr. Dickenson has worked as a teacher trainer and consultant for Princeton Review and Harcourt Publishing. She has taught courses related to mathematics education at University of California in Santa Cruz.

Presently, Dr. Dickenson resides in the Monterey Peninsula area and enjoys teaching online for the MAT program at USC. She teachers Education 518: Application of Theories of Learning to Classroom Practice. Dr. Dickenson’s research interests include issues related to motivation and mathematics instruction.
