Secretary of Education Arne Duncan just launched Teach.gov, a new website “designed to raise awareness of the teaching profession and get a new generation of teachers to join the ones who are already making a difference in the classroom.”
The site features a collection of teacher stories and profiles, as well as celebrity thank-you’s from Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, J.J. Abrams and John Legend. In addition to inspirational messages, the site also serves as a resource for aspiring teachers, offering insight into the profession and how to get certified in each state.
In addition to teach.gov, you can also revisit My Teacher My Hero, a site that we helped launch last year to celebrate and recognize teachers. For a state by state interactive map of teaching certification information, you can also check out our Certification Map.
