Tackling a New School Year with Changes

Hanceville High School had been under the leadership of Principal Bob Burgess since 1993. Upon Mr. Burgess’s retirement at the end of last school year, Hanceville hired Mr. Tracy Hubbert as the new principal, bringing in many new and exciting changes. During these first few weeks of the school year, Mr. Hubbert has instituted several new programs that lead to better and more productive student life. Among these changes are more stringent policies on tardies and an increased focus on athletics. With this new focus on a more stringent student discipline there has been some backlash from students dropping out, but overall the new policies will assuredly lead to a more value-added learning experience for the students of Hanceville High School.

With all this going on, I began my optional teacher observations this week, and between that and coaching, my time is full. Undoubtedly, the new changes are different, but I can already see the changes in the school to help modernize the education process at HHS. I feel certain that Hanceville is a great place for students of all walks of life to come and receive an education that will lead them to success in life, and these new regulations will make the transition even easier for the students into the post-education world.
