The Art of Teaching

Last month, MAT@USC students, prospective students, and USC alumni joined USC Rossier Dean Karen S. Gallagher for a discussion entitled “The Art of Teaching” at the Woodruff Arts Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Gallagher spoke about what the arts change about the learning experience. She discussed the results of a national study that examined such issues as why the arts can change what happens for students, how the arts provide learning opportunities for adults in the lives of young people and how the arts can connect learning experiences to the world of real work.

Excellent presentation. It has empowered me to know that seeking my MAT@USC does mirror my future goals as an educator. I am excited about the call of action that this university focus on “enervate, educate and transform”.
