USC to Officially Welcome President C. L. Max Nikias on Friday, October 15

nikias_colorFor only the 11th time in the school’s 130+ year history, the University of Southern California is set to install a new University President.

On Friday, October 15th, Dr. C. L. Max Nikias will be officially inaugurated as University President.  This momentous occasion is marked by the history and pageantry of the USC Inauguration Ceremony. Being the first of its kind for nearly two decades, this event makes this an extremely significant time to be part of the Trojan family.

To recognize this, Edward P. Roski Chairman, University of Southern California Board of Trustees and Dr. Peter Conti President, USC Academic Senate, have issued an official invitation for each and every member of the Trojan family to join in the festivities. They anticipate more than 10,000 members of the Trojan Family, including trustees, faculty, students, staff, alumni, civic leaders, and other members of the local community.

Dr. Nikias is an electrical engineer who arrived at USC in 1991 to build a multimedia research center. Before taking office as president in August 2010, Nikias completed a  four-year tenure as dean of the USC Viterbi School of Engineering and served as executive vice president and provost for five years. He holds a patent in his field of electrical engineering.

The Inauguration Ceremony will begin in Alumni Park at 10:00 a.m., followed by an all-university picnic, which will last until 2:00 p.m. If you have the means to get to campus, go witness this historic and rare USC event and support Dr. Nikias in his initiation as USC President! Be a part of Trojan family history!
